Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Political-Economic Chief, the incumbent will seek to advance U.S. Embassy priorities, in coordination with the political section specialist and the economic officer. The incumbent will work directly with the political specialist to investigate, draft, write, and edit congressionally mandated reports, cables, sitreps, and memos. The incumbent will work with ECON, PAS, and Management sections on events supporting mission priorities, and will coordinate and track Leahy vetting for the Embassy. Back to top

Qualifications and Evaluations: Requirements: All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a Secret security clearance. All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation. Selected candidate must be able to begin working within four weeks upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end. Education Requirements: Two years of University Studies is required. Evaluations: LANGUAGE: Level IV (Fluent) speaking/writing/reading of English is required. Level I (Rudimentary Working Knowledge) reading/speaking/writing of French is required. Qualifications: EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience in international relations, international economics, government, democracy, human rights, law, labor, social justice, or humanitarian affairs is required. Relevant work experience should include interactions with government, international organizations, private sector, and/or civil society organizations. JOB KNOWLEDGE: General understanding of work in an Embassy environment and the work of a political/economic section. SKILLS & ABILITIES: Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to develop and maintain effective, sustainable working relationships with colleagues, partners, and contacts; leadership skills to lead results-driven projects and tasks; ability to work both independently and on teams, and to take the lead on project planning. For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office. The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
